The Peterborough Century 21 Lakers have added a member to their business staff.
Jordan Winch, the team’s new full-time Coordinator - Marketing, Sales and Community Events, began working for the team in December. Winch’s role is to assist the Board of Directors with sales, sponsorships, marketing initiatives and community events.
“As a volunteer group, we thought it would be best to have someone doing this full time in order to better serve our fans, sponsors and community partners,” said board chair Len Powers. “We are excited about the new ideas, strategies and tactics Jordan has already brought to the table. We’d like to formally welcome him to the team and look forward to him meeting you all in the near future.”
Winch is a Peterborough native with a passion for sports. He graduated from Brock University’s Sports Management program in 2018 and then completed an internship with Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment in the Toronto Maple Leafs’ Community Relations department. The past four years has been spent working in service and sales in the sporting goods industry.
“Growing up in Peterborough, I know how special the Lakers are to this city and how hard the board of directors, players, staff, volunteers and sponsors work to create such a successful product both on the floor and in the community,” Winch expressed. “I want to assist these individuals, while also implementing new strategies, ideas and initiatives that will further enhance the strong impact the Lakers already have in this community.”
