JULY 4, 2023 - The Peterborough Century 21 Lakers are excited to announce that this Thursday’s game versus the Cobourg Kodiaks will be the team’s first-ever Pride Night!
The team will wear specially designed jerseys during the game that will be auctioned off with proceeds supporting Sport A Rainbow, an organization founded by Lakers’ volunteer Rose Powers, whose mission is “inclusion for all in sport.”
Fans can place bids on jerseys throughout the game, with bidding sheets available in the main lobby, east lobby and upstairs. Bidding will end 10 minutes after the conclusion of the game. If you want to get your hands on one of these special, one-of-a-kind, game-worn jerseys, you need to be at the game!
Sport A Rainbow is a pledge initiative that encourages everyone to stand up against hateful speech and actions in all sports, recognizing that sports are about more than just the game. The Lakers team has taken the pledge and players proudly wear Sport A Rainbow helmet stickers. Learn more at https://sportarainbow.ca.
Fans are encouraged to show their pride at the game by dressing up in rainbow-coloured clothing!

- First intermission: Over 40 members of the Lakers’ Dance Team will perform in tribute to Riddick MacHart.
- Second intermission: Members from PMLA Girls Teams will be hosting a demonstration on the floor. Kids will be allowed on the floor to play following the demonstration.
